It’s the last of the dog days of summer, Aug dawgs! At least, we think it is. We’re not 100% sure on the Oxford dog days definish’ and HONESTLY in times like these who can be bothered to Bing something that intense? Anyway, this last week was a real rescued Golden Retriever-mix of a week (read: just lovely.) Did you come to DynastyLand!? If so, you know. If you didn’t, then doubtless you’ve been suffering from a very merited case of GOMO (Guarantee Of Missing Out™) the last few days. Wednesday’s big event was a complete success, with amazing performances in the main show, followed by an epic after party featuring treats a' plenty (free Van Leeuwen Ice Cream! Free Verve coffee floats! That good green stuff from Old Pal provisions, and more) amazing beats (DJ sets by Open Mike Eagle, DJ Breezy Eezy, Ricky Carmona, and Dax Jordan) a successful introduction of cotton candy Owl’s Beard, the inaugural installation of our two new tents, our staff looking better than ever, several puppet-related attractions, a roaming rhyming accordionist, spectacular tiny shows in the green room Root Cellar Cabaret, and so much more. Did we mention there were celeb sightings? Oh good, we didn’t want to mention it. We pride ourselves on our discretion. Long story short, it was a dreamy and packed party bursting with our favorite things. If you missed it, the only cure is NEVER LETTING THAT HAPPEN AGAIN. Next DynastyLand event is a spoooooky one in October, and we're sure we'll see you there! Friday and Saturday were two sold-out performances of The Fast and the Furious: a Musical Parody. Both nights received a well earned standing ovation from an audience that became a family. It’s all about FAMILY.
Speaking of family... TONIGHT join us for house and audience fav: Team Coco’s Up & Up with boy wonder (man wonder? We wonder how old he is! His beautiful skin ain't tellin’ any secrets hunnnn) MOSES STORM. This month’s lineup is amazing: DANA GOULD! FLULA BORG! CHRIS FLEMING! VALERIE TOSI! RHEA BUTCHER! PAUL W. DOWNS! (Yes, it’s improv and yes it’s always a new show… but isn’t it thrilling? We find it thrilling.) THURSDAY we’re hosting a concert with the lovely and talented LISA LOEB! Get your tickets and enjoy an evening of music, followed by a reception. That’s right, come to the show and stay, STAY, stay for a while. FRIDAY it’s a double-header of delights! First up, NYC darling JENNY GORELICK brings her show Jenny’s Birthday Variety Show & Blow Out! She’s got a packed n’ party worthy lineup: MOSES STORM, ASIF ALI, ALYSSA LIMPERIS, AYO EDEBIRI, KYLE MARTLETT, MAEBE A GIRL! Come! Party like its your (and Jenny’s) Birthday! Then, at 10pm it’s a MAJOR ENTERTAINER Tribute to The Last American Virgin hosted by NEIL HAMBURGER and MAJOR ENTERTAINER Mike H with a panel of stars from The Last American Virgin, DIANE FRANKLIN (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) and KIMMY ROBERTSON (Twin Peaks.) We’ll be watching clips, hearing quips, and doing a Q & A around the 80's teen sex comedy classic.
SATURDAY it’s the final Dynasty Tonight of the summer! (again, we’re not exactly sure how the summer works, but this might be true?) We’ll break out the DYNGO (Dynasty Bingo) and let the good times roooooolll! Rolling in with us are DEMETRI MARTIN! BECKY ROBINSON! KURT BRAUNOHLER! ZACH NOE TOWERS! Juggler MICHAEL RAYNER and more! Then at 10pm, it’s the most appropriately named show ever, Everything’s Great! With the holy(cow they’re cute) trinity of hosts: DEMI ADEJUYIGBE, NICK KOECHER, ADDIE WEYRICH! And guests PAUL W.
