Darlings,
What a time! We announced tonight's SANDLER show yesterday morning and it went on sale at 6pm and was sold out at approximately 6:02 pm. And despite the disclaimer we gave about people sending irate emails if they didn't get tickets, we’ve still had to add several names to The Dynasty No-Fly list. This list is not randomly profiled, it is based purely on verified, exhibited distasteful human behavior. We ran the numbers on having one of the most popular comics in the world in a room that seats fewer than 200, and the math indicates that many people will not get what they want. We feel for that, because we do this whole thing because we want to be a vessel for wonderful things for wonderful people!
Of these many, many rightfully disappointed people: 90% handle the situation gracefully; disappointed but understanding the odds were not in their favor. 5% blame a technology glitch/some sort of bot situation (FYI bots are already on our No-Fly list), 2% blame us for not adding more shows (which never occurred to us! jk!) and 2% write truly unhinged messages that include the word URGENT or HELP or UNACCEPTABLE (it’s an interesting tactic to totally harass and alienate the human on the other end of your communication before you ask for an impossible favor!), and 1%… writes Dynasty fanfic.
We are delighted to have an audience that is overwhelmingly understanding and positive. And we are also delighted to protect our Dynasty friendly skies from mean people! We’re using this “fuck around and find out” energy that we’ve heard about in memes. Perhaps aging is just having a deeper understanding of the joys that connection can bring and the joys that boundaries maintain. Oh, that felt deep to type on a Tuesday. But we're humans trying our best and are so excited to be back putting on shows with folks we love for audiences of folks we love and <pounding chest> Dynasty's aim to enchant the world is earnest as fuck and we got no more time for any negative riff-raff! Anyways, another amazing week is upon us!! Also, we're officially ramping up for our Eerie and Enchanting DYNASTYLAND PARTY which is, you know, great!
