Anyhoo! Hopefully this email finds you. (Not well or anything, just like, literally FINDS YOU. Like, say, how a detective finds a clue, or a squirrel detective finds a squirrel clue. Internet’s so weird, right? 😂 SORRY IT’S TOO EARLY IN THE WEEK TO BE SO SILLY!!!) It’s October. It’s Halloween week. It’s aggressive political SMS marketing season. It’s lose and gain faith in humanity time! 🎢 If you, like us, are going mushy in the membrane from all this, here’s what you do: You come to the theater. You don’t even have to talk to anyone. You can basically point at concessions and they’ll figure it out with you. Then you sit in a dark room with moody lighting (again, you don’t even have to talk) and watch some brilliant people do things that make you remember that "Hey! Human beings can be preeetttty cool. And I'm a human too! So I'm preeettty cool!" Then walk or scoot or dance into the night (or fly, if you’re able. If you can fly we urge you to do it A LOT. #DynastyWisdom ) and be reunited with your human soul. Now that right there? THAT'S The Dynasty Difference™!
Y’all. Maybe it's the season, but we’ve been given so many ChaLLenGes lately. SO MANY. From many annoying sources. (Looking at you: cars, drivers, plumbing, intentionally sassy humans, unintentionally sassy humans, and government!) And to all those various sources we try to remind ourselves to scream, “THANK YOU TEACHER.” Because we believe everything that bumps n' burns n' boils us is ultimately a teacher, revealing areas we need to work on personally or lessons we have to learn approx. 42 billion times before they really take hold. People pleasin’ don’t die easy. (Unless you want it to! Then we can make it die so easy for you! Omg, no worries.) But even (or especially?) in the midst of all these CHALLENGES and LESSONS life has also served up some incredible beauty. Including a week ago today when we got to put on a magical Dynasty Tonight! with some of our favorite talent: Reggie Watts, Kate Berlant, Brent Weinbach and Steph Tolev, AND we got to help an amazing person pull off a SURPRISE WEDDING for her and her partner! ON STAGE. It was magical, and funny and sweet and strange and involved dares and decoder rings, as any good surprise wedding does. Jamie and Vanessa are both MINISTERS (thanks to their rigorous spiritual training from Universal Life Church.org) and have individually married several people, but this was their first JOINT ceremony and it was quite exciting. We are so so grateful that Dynasty can be a part of someone’s love story. 💕 If Dynasty is a part of YOUR love story, please let us know! (Hook up stories also welcome!
