New Year Darlings!
It's 2025! Finally! We made it!! 💃🏽 🪩 🕺🏼 We think we can ALL agree that when the traumatic events of 2020 befell the world, we just KNEW that it would take roughly 5 full years of intense pain and deep reflection and personal growth through various forms of therapy and meditation and psychedelic voyages and looking in the mirror and hard conversations and understanding the preciousness of life and straight up aging (all while watching the exciting evolution of Zoom technology!) for us to feel like we've fully completed our healing journeys, both individually and collectively. That is how we are all feeling, right??
When we opened our small theater doors in January 2018 we could not have predicted anything really, let alone a pandemic, let alone surviving it, let alone feeling like we would be starting Year 7 as whole as we've ever felt. Don't get us wrong, there is so much more healing and letting go and expanding to do in the coming years and our creative ambitions remain VAST, but we actually do feel a sense of hope and positive momentum going into this new year. Setting the tone, our New Year's Eve show couldn't have been more fun, and our first Dynasty Tonight! this past Saturday felt so epic and connected and ended with the entire audience up dancing after a night of ✨magical manifestations✨ and music by The Dynasties and the best comedians in the world doing what they do best. (Jokes!)
We have a lot of intentions for the year, but in this first newsie of 2025 we'll share our ongoing intention to embrace 🤿 THE DIVE! 🤿 That is, to accept that fear might just be unavoidable at times (most/all the times?) but to trust that once you dive into anything (Writing! A new creative venture! A new job! A new relationship! A new outfit! A new self care routine! A difficult conversation! A swimming pool! A lake! An isthmus! Can you dive into an isthmus? Is the plural of isthmus isthmi? According to spell checker, yes!) So yeah, dive dive dive into this year, no matter what it is you dive into! We didn't know anything about running a venue 7 years ago, but we took the dive and look at us now: effortlessly weaving natural water formations we admittedly know nothing about into the scrawling missives we send to thousands of people, most of who just want to know when Adam Sandler and Hannah Gadsby are coming back. (Answer: This year, according to our Dynasty vision boards! Also on our Dynasty Vision Boards: Our new video platform, Transmissions by Dynasty! More amazing shows and experiences here at the theater and in other locations! LOTS of puppets! A podcast! The MacDoKo Arts District! Guano Guano Club! Fish Coffins! HelmCo! SHINE ON, AMERICAN COWPERSONS: A Spanglers Reunion Tour to Reunite America! Rompmag! Mall High! And so many other things we wouldn't expect you to understand at this point.)

That’s right, audience members are encouraged to bring a dvd/blu ray of a film they would like to see ripped apart (lovingly) and a vote will be held to determine which one we watch.

Solomon had his television debut in February 2015 as the featured comedian on CONAN, and followed it up with appearances on Drunk History, The Meltdown with Jonah & Kumail, This is Not Happening, Viceland's Flophouse, Last Call with Carson Daily, 2 Dope Queens and a second appearance on CONAN.
On October 2017, Solomon's first half-hour comedy special premiered on Comedy Central Stand Up Presents. His debut album with Comedy Central Records, HomoNégro Superior, is also available.
As a writer, he’s written for Shrill, High Fidelity, HBO’s Crashing, Adam Ruins Everything and Spongebob Squarepants.
MONDAY 1/13, 7:30PM: It’s Pat
It is time to welcome the Sex Symbol of the 90s back into our hearts. It's Pat: The Movie - based on JULIA SWEENEY’S ambiguously gendered and gender non-conforming Saturday Night Live character- has rarely screened in the 30 years since its release and we are excited to present it with its star/co-writer Julia Sweeney appearing in person!
It's Pat: The Movie is incredibly silly, and slyly funny. The film has a charming and sweet romance between Pat and their love interest Chris (DAVE FOLEY) and a host of wonderful performances from an all-star ensemble (CHARLES ROCKET, KATHY GRIFFIN, TIM MEADOWS, JULIE HAYDEN, WEEN, wild cameos + more) within stunning candy-colored kitschy retro design by MICHELLE MINCH shot beautifully by JEFFREY JUR.
Featuring special guests, conversation, and previews of the 2025 documentary We Are Pat, a tale of comedy, obsession, transness and how art ages over time told through the thick spectacles of Pat, directed by the evening's moderator ROWAN HABER.
