Hello Darlings,
Happy post-Superbowl Monday to those who celebrated. (We celebrated Kendrick Lamar and the referee who looked kinda like Tituss Burgess.) Other than Kendrick, yesterday’s REAL winner was The Muppet Script Reading Show and Livestream! The live show was amazing with some of our favorite Dynasty Darlings delivering heartfelt Muppety moments. VAN cried at least 4 separate, distinct cries in the audience. (JAM was busy doing good deeds last night, but will eagerly watch the livestream and has built in a buffer for sobbing during/afterwards. As you can tell, both VAN and JAM are really embracing tears these days. It feels like a healthy thing. 🔊Sound off 🔊in the comments if you agree!) The livestream is available for 2 weeks, and… you gotta watch it, folks. It was magical, and hilarious, and earnest, and just the kind of medicine we need in these unprecedented times. (Precedented times, if you’re reading this, WE MISS YOU, GIRL!!!) Thank you to MATT WILKIE for bringing us this absolute superstar of a show, and giving part of the proceeds to GIVEDIRECTLY. The highlights are too many to mention, but MARC EVAN JACKSON was a perfect Kermit, NINA WEST WAS Miss Piggy, and DAVID DASTMALCHIAN brought us to tears of both varieties as GONZO. Oh, and it turns out COLTON DUNN is actually Rowlf and has been just wearing a skinsuit for years.
Hope all is as well as can be in your world. We’re swingin’ between our own heavens and hells pretty rapidly these days. (Heaven: these shows! Our wonderful team! Our friendship! Our growth as humans that allows us to communicate more clearly! Hell: Fungus gnats! A jerk seller on Ebay who enthusiastically refuses to take accountability for a frame that was totally shattered in shipping. Even though IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT as said frame wasn’t even in a box?! It was wrapped in plastic? He’s telling me I need to get the delivery service to reimburse me… which is the United States Postal Service… and they’re not going to do that. A mean person named DYLAN who replied to a Dynasty email saying the writing style was cringe and asking us to write differently. We HAVE to let that go. We can’t let it go.
It’s Valentine’s week for those who celebrate. Yes, of course, Hallmark holiday et cetera et cetera. And yes of course you should celebrate your loved ones every day! But it wouldn’t kill ya to send a card to someone or grab some chocolates for yourself, or… ADOPT A PUPPY! Just a thought!
