Sweet Dynasty Darlings,
Would you believe it’s the penultimate Ol’ Newsie of Jan?! We wouldn’t, but we triple checked the calendar to confirm it and it is, so we do. 2020 is walking at a brisk pace in her sexy tracksuit and ain’t NOBODY gonna stop her! The past week brought “seven days of joy boys” (the name of NamNaw Dynasty’s sexy week-at-a-glance calendar she kept under her pillow) and we loved it. We had so much fun getting to know some of Jon Glaser’s friends who made appearances at his shows! Friends such as: JON HAMM (we know!) TIM MEADOWS! (We know!) and… *cue music* THE MAN IN THE GREEN MASK (We have no idea.) We loved BOTH of Jon’s shows. They were silly dream drops from top to bottom. Bruce McCulloch’s show was a punch-line packed extravaganza with a beating heart that made us go “awww!” EARNESTLY. Sam Jay and Jak Knight were very, very cool on Friday (no surprises there!) and the Putterbaughs converted us all into Kitchen Women. (Fun Fact: Their audience gave our pre-recorded Dynapop/Lindt packed intro its biggest reaction yet! The numbers don't lie: weirdos love us most!)
Interestingly, this weekend we accidentally (truly!) hosted rentals that both turned out to be veiled multi-level-marketing platform events, one of which involved sexy oils. We’re pleased to report that none of our staff fell prey! WE ARE STRONG. WE ARE IMPERVIOUS TO PLOYS HOWEVER APPEALING AND GOOD SMELLING AND SEXY THEY MAY BE! And we learned a valuable lesson: Dig deeper when rentals involve sexy oils hosted by sexy alliterative namesakes. In completely good news, we had the true pleasure of hosting the WORLD PREMIERE of Randy Feltface’s new film, The Book of Randicus and were EVEN MORE INTENSELY WOOED by him. Just when you think you couldn’t fall any deeper in love with a purple puppet… you find out the purple puppet started his own religion. We were NOT impervious to the charms of Randy. Let it be known that Dynasty won’t buy your stuff, but MIGHT buy into your cult! JK! We’re our own cult, honey!! JK! We’re nobody’s cult! Jamie, Vanessa, put those candles and gemstones down NOW! On Sunday, the audience entered the showroom “life style” (through a giant vagina). Shelly Slocum put on another amazing and inspiring Fetal Position show, which included such stage-gasms as Michaela Watkins talkin’ eggs and a sexpert using our DYNAPOP olive oil dispenser to simulate a stimulation device on a vulva puppet. CLASSIC! (Also, sexier than the MLM sexy oils!)
THIS WEEK should be no less scintillating but we’ll work on keeping our condiments more chaste. Not that there’s anything WRONG with an empowered, sexy condiment… but not at WORK, guys. Keep it popfessional! TONIGHT it’s Up & Up with MOSES STORM produced by our amazing friends over at Team Coco. This month’s line-up features: JOE MANDE, LEONARD OUZTS, CAMERON ESPOSITO, JAY LARSON, ANDY HAYNES, JERMAINE FOWLER and more. If you like shows… you’re gonna like this show. IT’S THAT SIMPLE, PEOPLE!!! Speaking of shows you’ll like if you like shows (our whole calendar! But also and especially-) WEDNESDAY is ZACH SHERWIN’s The Crossword Show! Crossword puzzles + comedians + raps plus more wormholes, and intense connections than a madman’s lair. THURSDAY at 8pm it’s a totally sold out performance from the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Emmy™ award winning ALEX BORSTEIN! If you didn’t get tickets, we’ll tell you all about it in the next newsie but you’re right to assume it won’t be the same as attending in person. At 10pm we’re welcoming back NY-based improvisational voice band (yes! It’s a thing and it's what they are!) Subtle Pride. Come revel in their sounds AND cool vibes with us.
FRIDAY come see The Friday Forty! It’s sketch comedy and trivia based on current affairs! Plus 40 questions about the week’s events while the panel drinks 40s. Honestly, it’s a solid concept for a show made rock-hard by hosts DAVE HOLMES and SCOTT M. GIMPLE. This week’s guests are KAREN KILGARIFF (My Favorite Murder!) and JOEY GREER (Alchemy This!). We could go on but it’s like what are you waiting for, get tickets. Sorry to be so blunt but it’s come to that point in the newsletter where we get downright sarsy and we tell it like it IS . At 10 pm we are going to go gaga over a glorious bastard and DynaPop fan Brad Pitt with The Bottomless Pitt: A Celebration of Brad! Your hosts STEVIE PALMER and NATALIE DARRAH "combed through the Brad archives with the precision of an Ocean’s heist, carefully curating their favorite moments in Pittstory with tender sexy care.” (When a show description is that good we bite it like a longhaired vampire, honey!) SATURDAY watch house favorite FELICIA FOLKES get even closer to becoming the household name she’s destined to be in her new show It’s Not LA, It’s You! With performances from TEDDY RAY and HANNAH EINBINDER! At 10pm BURT BLACKARACH is BURT BACK-ARACK in the house, this time with his own show Unshazamable: it’s a musical journey through a Grammy award winning producer’s priceless collection of vinyl, lead by your host with the most (inside music stories) Burt himself. SUNDAY DAVID HUNTSBERGER is here doing a stand-up taping for a sequel to his piece One-Headed Beast. Come and BE AMAZED. Attttennnnnd, honey! His poster is really good too. 🤷♀️
Oils of all viscosities,
Jamie and Vanessa
