Darlings! Come out come out wherever you are!
It’s the last newsie of February, and like the month, we’ll keep this newsletter weird and of do-able length.
*DY-LITES* from LAST WEEK:
- Fantasy BFF Zone: Sarah Squirm and Meg Stalter’s show was so good, so exciting, so silly, and so fueled with happy mania it made the audience turn to each other and say “I’ll have what they’re having.” And then the audience was like: “Oh my gosh we’re talking in unison!” “We’re still doing it” “Stop!” “No you stop!” “Ok this is getting FREAKY!” “Cinnamon Toast Brunch!?” “What the fuck is happening?!” “Jinx!”
- Technical Terrificulties: Zoë Coombs-Marr’s show was A++ and incorporated some of the most creative tech we’ve had at the theater yet INCLUDING (but not limited to) a well managed drone, another exciting appearance by a convulsing windsock man AND an audience hat-cam live streaming to the stage
- Slice o’ Heav’n: Saturday’s Dynasty Tonight! was an epic pageant of talent and also a parade of our staff! Pizza was consumed! Headliners shone! Magic astounded! Our carpet had to be moved to accommodate the fake severing of a fake conjoined twin so the fake blood could really drip on the stage.
THIS WEEK (WITH A FEW LAZY BEE PUNS FOR NO REASON):
- D-HIVE: Beyonce has her Bey Hive, and we have our D-Hive! Every month the D-Hive gets together for GO! DAY. What is GO! DAY? Basically we invite people that inspire us creatively to come inspire us and our audience, and it’s always **FREE**! 2pm this Sunday and queen bees JAMIE and VANESSA will be joined by GO! DAY MVBee BRENT FORRESTER, painter/performer TAYLOR BOS and more! Potentially... WAY MORE.
- Oh YAS, HONEY!: Is what we say to tomorrow being a Workjuice Wednesday! And THURSDAY being an Everything’s Great! We always love that show (hope you’re blushing, Nick n’ Addie n’ Demi!) 🤷♀️🤷♂️
- #BUZZWORTHY: The Fast and the Furious Musical Parody is bringing it’s crew back to Dynasty THIS Saturday!
- OOH THAT STINGS: Quick shoutout to musical artist Sting! He’s been flying under the radar of late, but what a discography, and boy did he revolutionize #beingaroundcandles!

We started our day by giving ourselves a little tarot card reading in our new podcast studio “The Enchanted Enclave.” We do that now. (Vanessa does the reading, Jamie voraciously takes it all in.) One of the cards was a 9 of Wands. On that card, a single wand is askew, but the others are all firmly planted in the ground. Why is that significant? Great question!
Our interpretation: Sometimes we focus on the wand in our life that’s messed up, and in doing so we do ourselves the huge disservice of letting that one slightly-off thing receive all of our energy. When we do that, we forget that we are surrounded by a bunch of wands that are doing GREAT and full of magic! And YES- it’s difficult not to get distracted by that one wonky wand - to not just try to stick it in line with all the other wands. But that is stealing our energy from the beautiful wands that need us to make their magic.
Is there a wand in your life that is getting too much of your attention?
