Is anyone else sleeping with scotch tape over their mouth at night because they read the first 40 pages of a book they were gifted called "Breath" which suggests that it could be a game changer for your persistent insomnia? No one? Ok. Well, after a week, the results over here have been middling. Which is honestly an improvement! So that's a thing! Other 200 seat venues might not have the TEMERITY to set off their weekly e-blast with an unverified sleep tip, but here we are. And THAT's... The Dynasty Difference!™. Note from Dynasty's legal team: Do your own research and proceed at your own risk (or at least wait until we've read more of the book) before moving forward with putting tape over your mouth in ANY situation. Don't worry, this newsie is not AT ALL "off the rails." It's exactly on the rails. Which is a nice transition point into a new word we've been trying out that we'd love to share: "Oopsolutely!" It's a great and fun term you can use when you want/need to lightheartedly DOUBLE DOWN on a mistake. Speaking of upcoming shows, let this also be our *OFFICIAL* announcement that we're doing our first New Year's Eve show since 2020, and… not to brag, but we’ve got some flarpin’ high hopes this one won’t ring in a pandemic! In classic form we'll be doing it on December 31st! The fun starts at 9pm, with an amazing line-up of some of our favorite stand-ups, our house band The DyNasties playing music all night, a champagne toast, a magical midnight manifestation ceremony, and lots of surprises! We'd love to ring 2024 with you, so make sure to get your pre-sale tickets before it sells out!

THURSDAY, 7:00PM: Leighton Night
It’s the 200th episode of LEIGHTON NIGHT with BRIAN WECHT, and we’re doing it as a live show with special guest JACOB “ALPHARAD” RABON! Given the amount of preparation we typically put in to our episodes, it’s hard to say exactly what will happen, but you can expect a total lack of bits. Once again, this show will feature NO BITS. It will, however, feature Alpharad.
FRIDAY, 7:30PM: The Fast and the Furious: A Musical Parody After a sold out pre-pandemic run LA’s boldest baldest musical is back with a vengeance and a revamped second act. New songs! New dances! Same dumb premise! Come watch your favorite car-driving gang members battle their greatest foe yet– singing and dancing at the same time.
In this unauthorized parody that is in no way connected to the very profitable Universal property, Dominic Toretto and his team (The Rock, Tyrese, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ludacris) do what they do best: commit crimes. And what they do second best: solve crimes. And what they do third best: harmonize. If you want to watch one of the films to prepare, we suggest ALL OF THEM *but actually the 8th movie, The Fate of the Furious.

🍿 🤚 4:00PM: The Benson Movie Interruption: Your Choice THE BENSON MOVIE INTERRUPTION: YOUR CHOICE is a show where comedian Doug Benson (SUPER HIGH ME, @midnight) invites some of his comedy friends to sit in the front row of the theater with mics, cracking wise during a screening of a movie that YOU choose. That’s right, audience members are encouraged to bring a dvd/blu ray of a film they would like to see ripped apart (lovingly) and a vote will be held to determine which one we watch.

Lisa Gilroy is one of Vulture’s Comedians You Should and Will Know as is known for History of the World Part II (Hulu), Comedy Bang Bang! (Earwolf), and Jury Duty (Amazon), Lisa is an alumna of The Second City Toronto as well as a mainstage Harold and ASSSSCAT performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade. Catch her opposite Kim Cattrall in Glamorous (Netflix) and as an upcoming lead in 2024 on Interior Chinatown (Hulu).

‘Tis the season for a Scriptnotes Holiday Show, a live recording of the podcast benefiting the Writers Guild Foundation. Hosts JOHN AUGUST and CRAIG MAZIN welcome special surprise celebrity scribes for a fun and insightful conversation “about screenwriting and things that are interesting to screenwriters.” All ticket proceeds directly benefit the Writers Guild Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and craft of writing for the screen.
