Dynasty Dygest: Feb 18th

This week, we’ve got some fun things to share! You'll never believe number 9!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Darlings,

First, we gotta know... HOW WAS YOUR PRESIDENTS' DAY!?!  If you're anything like us you're still knee-deep in wrapping paper n' stuffed from the traditional Prezzy Puddin’ Broonch! We're gonna ask you to put your new presidential toys away for just a moment to read the newsie. We’re trying a new concept called “BREVITY” this week, but don’t worry, we’ll put our trademark™ spin on it by spelling it breviDY™ and shouting out our on again off again sponsors DynaPop™ and Lindt Premium Chocolate. Let’s see if we like it, and you see if you like it too!

We’ll start by handing over our **ALL NEW SHOW REVIEW SECTION** to LA theater review staples Siggy and Pauly Blaumfield who we had the pleasure of meeting this past week!

NOTE FROM THE BLAUMFIELDS: Hello! Siggy here, sitting beside Mr. Blaumfield (or “Mr. B” as our son’s friends call him lol), Pauly. We are in our livingroom/den (this is the fight that might break up our marriage HA).  We are very excited to be writing the Dyna-E-Blaster. We write a regular column “A Words On Play” in the popular LA Theater publication, Stages Of Life. We have never written an E-Blaster. Let’s see how this goes. Also, for the record, Dynasty Computer at The Hayward is very cute and Mr. B loved putting M&Ms on his popcorn. =) I haven’t seen him so happy since we saw “Pippin” at the “Mark Taper Forum” on our umpteenth anniversary. Paul is often dictating, so I have the tricky dual role of transcriber and co-writer. I just read Paul the part about the “umpteenth” anniversary and Paul is laughing. =)  (smiling face made of punctuation)

SHOW REVIEW #1 FOR SANDRA BERNHARD
byline: SIGGY & PAUL BLAUMFIELD

Me and Mr. B  had the great pleasure of attending the Sandra Bernhard cabaret show at Dynasty Computer at The Hayfield on Thursday. Paul remarked, as he often does, about what a long street Wilshire is with it’s many identities. It’s true, it’s a very long street and goes through a lot of neighborhoods. When we arrived, we noted that parking was doable.  It was our first trip to this venue. It was cute and the bathrooms were CLEAN and “non-gendered” which is obviously wonderful, especially for Paul because he didn’t “blow it” by going into the wrong designation, something he’s done more than once at #thepantages because the doors are distracting there. New paragraph. We love Sandy but haven’t seen her live in a while, so we were overjoyed and our moods very "up" unlike when we go to see and “cover” more  dramatic theater. We wore our flashiest blazers hoping the lady of the hour (Sandra Bernhard) would interact with us during the show, as we love when that happens and we, the audience, get to feel like we are also the talent. She did not, but she did wink at our section and said “I love you” in a general way that managed to feel intimate. That’s Sandy for you. Irreverent, INTELLIGENT, magnetic, appealing. Very New York. Very chic. We stayed for the meet and greet. We got a great photo (Mr B’s eyes look better closed anyway HA)  She was so nice. Also  fun, Mimi (Mariah Carrey) and Sandy have made peace. Anything is possible!  As we always sign off on our column: ~LIVE, LOVE AND…LEAVE THE DRAMA ON THE STAGE =) SIGGY & PAUL

SHOW REVIEW #2  FOR DYNASTYLAND
byline SIGGY & PAUL BLAUMFIELD

PAUL TAKES THE KEYBOARD FOR THIS ONE. I finished my lunch.
My SWEETHEART Siggy and I had the pleasure of attending Dynasty’s Valentine’s #dynastyland event. Full disclosure we were GIVEN these tickets in exchange for this REVIEW, but will still keep our INTEGRITY. Our major takeaway? Dynastyland (!!! is at  the theater, don’t put DYNASTYLAND in your MapQuest!!! Put DYNASTY TYPER  in your MapQuest) is on the very LONG Wilshire Boulevard in LOS ANGELES. It is a land of wonder; full of party people HUNGRY to sing, dance, Dyngo (this is bingo) eat popcorn and more.  Each area of the theater had something going on and there was truly something for everyone! I didn't trip. I was partial to the #puzzletable where I made some new friends. One of them had an EARRING in their NOSE! Not something you’d usually see at #thepantages, but that’s part of the charm of this place: really funky people making strange choices.  If it wasn’t something in someone’s nose, it was a nose on someone else’s something! I’m talking about the dancefloor of course, which was jam packed with partygoers (lovers and loners) shaking their #butts to popular contemporary tunes spun by DJ Dax. At one point my #butt knocked into the #butt of a man dressed as a giant bird!  I hope the bathrooms are also non-SPECIED! Ha! That night I fell in love again: with theater, with Dynasty, with Siggy. My rock. Let’s just hope she never puts an EARRING in her NOSE! (Good for others but seems like it might get in the way when we’re smooching. YES, WE STILL SMOOCH which we’ll do on our rescheduled Valentine’s Day tradition of #steak.) ~LIVE, LOVE AND…LEAVE THE DRAMA ON THE STAGE;) SIGGY & PAUL

Thank you for this opportunity,
(live, laugh)  LOVE
SIGGY & PAUL

Thank you Siggy and Paul! We love you and are so glad to  have new correspondents on the Dynasty beat.

Now, a few BLERPS from VanJam:
  • VALENTINE'S TAKEAWAY: People LOVE Tarot. The Enchanted Enclave (our office) was in use the ENTIRE night, with VANESSA reading the cards and JAMIE hyping the sessions with an airhorn app. Tears were shed! Gemstones were given! Eyes weren’t rolled! It was actually a really moving experience, and we can’t wait to do more. And we got pics to prove it!
  • YOUR WEEKLY WOW: FRIDAY: basically, HANNAH GADSBY and a DRONE and hours of drone training all play a part in ZOË COOMBS MARR’s Friday show, Bossy Bottom. Allow US to be a bossy bottom for a moment: “Get your tickets!”
  •  This Saturday we’re excited to host A WEIRD AND INSANE AFTERNOON WITH NATHAN RABIN. It is a celebration of his book release “The World Accordion To Al” which is a comprehensive look at every single one of Weird Al’s songs! This is a particularly exciting event for us to host because A) Jamie has been obsessed with Weird Al his entire life and is convinced that someday he will grace our stage and b) Jamie became friends with Nathan through The Long Shot Podcast after years of reading his work, and C) Nathan was a big proponent of the opening of Dynasty. We’re not sure what to expect, but we know it’s going to be fun as flarpin’ hell!

  • LINDT™ TRAP  This SATURDAY night at 9pm come on by Dynasty Tonight for a jam-packed VanJam approved  line-up!

BRAND, BERNHARD, BARONE! + VALENTINES FOR LOVERS & LONERS!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Esteemed members of the D’Academy,

We hope this newsletter finds you still basking in the golden after-glow of The Academy Awards. Did you attend a party? Did you win your Oscar pool? Did you have themed  snacks and spirited conversation? We did all of those things at our Dynasty viewing party last night, so if you did them too we could have a great conversation. But heck, even if you did different things, did nothing at all, or have great disdain for awards shows, we could have a lovely conversation, because sometimes the greatest conversations are not those between like-minded individuals, they are the conversations full or friction and wild energy. If you hate the Oscars, hate popcorn, and even *GASP* hate Dynasty Typewriter and are hate-reading our newsletter, we think of you not as an enemy, but as a potential meet-cute opportunity! Like MC Scat Kat Dynasty (the ORIGINAL MC Skat Kat FYI) always said (RIP), “Opposites attract. But, it is the intention put into the pairing that will ultimately determine the long-term viability of the relationship. ” He was always a rascal like that!

Anyway, we’re coming off of a fun and varied week at Dynasty and looking forward to more of the same (“same” in this instance meaning same curated variation, not like, same-same) this week. Highlights of the last week include: an engrossing conversation on passion & finance from ADAM DAVIDSON and ADAM MCKAY, two non-ironic uses of singing bowls (Go!Day and Greg BarrisDeep Healing), getting to know our THEATER LIGHTS more intimately and creating four amazing new lightscapes which were introduced to our audience at Saturday’s Dynasty Tonight by Clamzys (our seashell footlights) and Ruggy (our rug.) If you can’t wrap your noggin around that then hunnney, you are reading the wrong newsletter! New lightscapes include: Aquatown: Real Life, Underwater. Sedona Cave: Sunset. The Powder Room. And Sadboy & Happyguy: A Lightstory. Last week, we wrote you as but humble theater proprietors. Today, we write you as SEASONED LIGHTING DESIGNERS. What an EXPECTED thrill. There will be more. A LOT more.

Yesterday was a regular ding-dang Dynasty Darling hang-out day at the theater and we’re still flarpin’ flying high from it! The Go!Day G’Oscars were a huge success, POPPY themself handing out Linnys (Lindt-awards) to some of our favorite folks. And then our friend and favorite DAVE HOLMES came over and hosted our live stream party! We all grew as people for and as really came together as a family during the Eminem performance.

And now, let’s talk about this week! TONIGHT we have MARONZIO VANCE (Last Comic Standing, Lopez) at 8pm. He’s so charming. He’s so loveable! He’s so… Maronzio. TOMORROW NIGHT, we’ve got a JUST ANNOUNCED return of RUSSELL BRAND at 6pm. Grab your tickets and enjoy an intimate and engrossing performance with one of the quickest-thinking thinkers we’ve seen.  At 8pm we’re so excited for the first (of many!) live Dollop podcasts with hosts DAVE ANTHONY and GARETH REYNOLDS and their very special guest KAREN KILGARIFF. We’d go on and on about how great it’s going to be and how you need to get tickets, but alas and hurray, it’s SOLD OUT. Speaking of upcoming sold out shows we don’t want to hype too much and make you feel sad about, on WEDNESDAY we’ve got MARY BETH BARONE returning with Drag His Ass with a top shelf lineup of ass-draggers including BENITO SKINNER, SARAH SQUIRM, JARED GOLDSTEIN, ALI MACOFSKY and more and then on THURSDAY SANDRA BERNHARD will be coming in! #iconstatus #legend.

FRIDAY is Valentines Day and don’t worry last-minute lovers, galentines gaggles, lovely loners and beyond: there’s room, love and DynaPop! Enough to go around at DYNASTYLAND! “You won’t be sorry when you soiree (with us)!” - Jamie and Vanessa. We’ll have dancing, a cash bar, live comedy, a puzzle hideaway, photo opportunities and more. And by MORE we definitely mean VanJam (us) reading your tarot cards in our new Enchanted Enclave!

SATURDAY night we’re celebrating the 2 year anniversary of Let’s Go Atsuko! And we’re still in the honeymoon phase, honey! This very special edition of ATSUKO OKATSUKA’s wonderful woke Japanese gameshow will be featuring: KULAP VILAYSACK! RHEA BUTCHER! JIMMY PARDO! NAOMI EKPERIGIN and more. So come on and let’s go!

SUNDAY: Maybe you’ve seen them on Youtube (millions have!). Maybe you saw them on NBC’s Bring The Funny (where they were finalists!). DEFINITELY you can see them at Dynasty if you get tickets like, now! It’s the singing-comedy trio KEITH HABERSBERGER, ALEX LEWIS, & HUGHIE STONE FISH) LEWBERGER!  We can’t help but notice that Hughie Stone Fish’s name seems to be left out of the LEWBERGER name mashup, but if the group is  cool with it, so are we.  Come see,  hear, laugh, love. Then get the previous sentence printed in a vinyl script on a decal and place that decal somewhere helpful in your home. Look at that, we just became SEASONED INTERIOR DESIGNERS. We’re exhausted.

Russell Stauffers Microwavable Chocolate Dinners,

VANJAM

Dynasty Dygest: Feb 3rd

PROOPS TONIGHT! ADAM MCKAY! OSCARS WATCH PARTY! GO! DAY! What color carpet do you like?

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Dynasty Darlings,

It’s February! And a LEAP year February at that! Ok, let’s talk about it. February has a LOT going both for Dynasty's Market Research Teamand against it. The weird extra R, the varying length, the housing of Valentine’s day which you either love or love to hate (or are ambivalent towards, but intensive #marketresearch has revealed that hyperbole is more fun in a newsletter than nuanced truths, and we paid a LOT for our market research team, so we listen!) February here at Dynasty is like the perfect box of truffles for our  Darlings, curated by someone who really knows your impeccable taste and adorable complexities. See our monthly calendar below and get all twitterpated and goo-goo eyed.

Last week, we bid farewell to Jan(uary) and she went out with a shish-bang-boom! It was thrilling to host a conversation between Neal Katyal and Rob Reiner and we feel like it definitely made us smarter, so watch out cocktail parties -- our small talk game just got refined (we’ll still burp on command if you insist, but now Russell Brandwith more eye contact.) Mark Normand delivered two amazing special tapings to two sold-out crowds, WorkJuice imrprov'ed so damn hard, Joe Machi was a delight, Russell Brand expanded our consciousnesses’ (again: watch out cocktail parties! again: we’ll still burp on command, but now with more presence), Everything’s Great was great n’ everything! Saturday we started February with a Dynasty Tonight that was a flarpin’ love-heart delight with a line-up of our favorite folks. Sunday took a break from being the Lord’s day and became SHAKIRA and J. LO’s day. Whatever virgin’s blood they’re drinking, pour us a DOUBLE honey! But perhaps last week’s most notable moment: while dancing to a vocalized slow version of “Get Ready for This” by 2 Unlimited in the alley behind the theater (while Russell Brand was on stage), Jamie and Vanessa stumbled upon a magical space between our building and our neighbors that could become an enchanting new Dynastyland attraction. You’ll need to attend our Valentine’s Day party to find out!

And now, to the dismay of Garfield empaths everywhere, it’s Monday! But it’s a delight for us because TONIGHT we’ve got the very humble GREG PROOPS with his Smartest  Man In The World podcast at 8pm! And who needs a bouquet of roses for Valentine’s when you could have a REAL Rose TOMORROW? It’s ROSEBUD BAKER at 8pm. She’s a comic, a writer, an actor, and  the Village Voice named her the Very Best of Just For Laughs New Faces, so come see her face for yourself. WEDNESDAY we have another Live Talk, this one is double-Adam style. ADAM DAVIDSON (NPR’s Planet Money, Peabody winner) discussing his book The Passion Economy with ADAM MCKAY (VICE, SNL). FRIDAY we’re so excited for Outtake-O-Rama, a live show comprised of infamous celebrity outtakes featuring the legendary stars of FUTURAMA… BILLY WEST! JOHN DIMAGGIO! And MAURICE LA MARCHE! Plus head writer DAVID X. COHEN! Experience the most horrifically entertaining treasures ever mistakenly put down on tape by William Shatner, Richard Nixon, and many more. Plus the latest from Trump Brannigan! This will be followed by ANOTHER delightful collection of monster scenes, this one more literal. It’s Friday Night Frights & Slashback Video presenting a Werewolf Celebration, they’ve put together a wolfy preshow and it will be followed by a werewolf movie that has never had a theatrical release… howl about that! SATURDAY means it’s Dynasty Tonight! Night! We can’t wait! We’re so excited about this lineup, probably because we picked it out ourselves. We’ve got DEMI ADEJUYIGBE! JACKIE TOHN! LAURIE KILMARTIN! MARY LYNN RAJSKUB and more, sweet darlings. Join us!! And stay all night because at 10pm it’s GREG BARRIS’ DEEP HEALING - we’re just going to put his description of the event here because it’s really good and evocative and exciting: Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Be psychically prepared for movement & vulnerability. Allow yourself to open and release. Bring your most healing gifts in the form of a song, a sound or powerful healing thought. With RORY SCOVEL and musical guests KENRIC MCDOWELL and GRIFFIN MOLLY.

Then we’ve got a solid-gold SUNDAY featuring a double dose of Dynasty dates! At 2pm it’s a very Oscars-ish GO! DAY (The G’Oscars!). GO! DAY is our free monthly dose of enchantertainment™ hosted by JAMIE and VANESSA and featuring some of our favorite artists, entrepreneurs, and sources of inspiration. Join us and get a peek behind the curtain of the theater,  and a peek behind the curtain of…  your own limitations. GO! DAY:  BE LIMITLESS (slogan borrowed from our upcoming GO! DAY sports drink ad campaign.) This month will feature faves BARRY & JASON, BRENT FORRESTER, RACHEL BRODEUR and RITA OLIVIERA and the lovely JEANIE BERGEN. Then at 4:30, we’re metaphorically roll out the red carpet (unless anyone has any literal red carpet we can use!) for an Oscar’s watch party! We’ll have ballots, pizza, and a cash bar. You should: attend! Get all dressed up (if you want to! No presh!) Bring a themed potluck item (again, if you want to! No presh!) and get ready to watch HISTORY BE MADE. Or at least watch the awards show. Our night’s very dapper host will be Hollywood’s own DAVE HOLMES. We can’t wait to watch with you!

Sweet love,

VanJam

ALLADIN TALK! GREG PROOPS! THE RETURN OF WORJKUICE! JOE MACHI! A LOT MORE!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Darlings!

EXTRY EXTRY! THIS JUST IN!!!!! Corn-Fed Owners of Quaint Venue SHOCK WORLD by Joining Gynmasium! (Surely this is the content you came for!?) We figured, if we want to take this li’l Hollywood-ish theater to the next level, it’ll take some #rippedbods. So we got gym memberships with stars in our eyes, short-shorts in our gym bags, and aspirational bathing suits in our online carts! Cut to: The next day. JAMIE awkwardly jumps off the stage to impress the audience. It looks SO cool until he lands on his foot funny and is now out of commission for a week. Cut to, the NEXT day: Vanessa bends at waist to put large-scale baby down. It looks SO maternal until she slips a disc (skeletal, not frisbee!) and will be out of commission for even longer. They may or may not  be writing  this newsletter in a reclined position while riding a magic carpet woven by a prescription narcotic. Where will THIS journey take us, sweet darlings? Re: Magic carpets, can someone tell me why they remade Aladdin? Such a true and deep disappointment. Will Smith has many merits but should never be held up comedically in such close proximity to Robin Williams... it’s just not a good look. Will DOES look great by Jada though, superficially speaking. Their height difference is…  exhilarating. But, make no mistake, though Jada be but little she is powerful! She’s making BIZZNASSS calls from her booster seat at the table (inside joke for all Table Talk fans!!!!) honey! (Jamie here. FYI all that Aladdin talk was Vanessa. I don’t really have a horse in that race. Never saw the original (Vanessa here: THIS IS WHY YOU DON’T HAVE A HORSE IN THE RACE! IF YOU DIDN’T SEE THE ORIGINAL, THE RANT WASN’T FOR YOU! Keep your horses in their own paddock. That  you even dare to weigh in is frankly insulting and an example of white male entitlement at it’s finest. But please, GOOOO ONNNNNN) and what I saw of the remake was like, not mindblowing but if you paid for a fun genie movie with Will Smith, it delivered. Ok, Just saw that I was rudely parenthe-rupted - ok, I don’t have a horse in the race. BUT I HAVE A HORSE. IT’S JUST NOT IN RACING SHAPE RIGHT NOW. IT’S WHY I JOINED THE GYM. (Vanessa here: Jamie this was never about your shape. Your shape is perfect. And you know what? You’re right. If you paid for a genie movie with WIll Smith it DID deliver. What I’m lamenting is a needless remake of a movie that centered around a role performed by a man I really loved and respected, a master comic and improvisor. I think a more inclusive and properly cast Aladdin is a great concept as a pitch, but watching the resulting product left me feeling really… down. No one wins in this. I’m sorry I started it, and I’d be honored to finish it.) Jamie, still here, I do have body issues, but I appreciate the reminder that all of our bodies are inherently perfect. What I lack in build, I make up for in passion. In a way, to keep in the Aladdin theme, we’re all like genies, and every choice we make is a wish, and when we are born we get a lifetime of wishes, not just three. And there are three sides to a triangle, and our logo is a triangle, so this whole thing organically came full… circle. Can I have some of your Narcode now? (Vanessa passes bottle of Super Strength ACME Narcode to Jamie.) We’ll let’s just end with agreement: The Jada/Will height difference is indeed…  exhilarating.

The last week at the theater? In a word: QUIRKALICIOUS! Yes, it was a wild week of varied programing. Seriously folks, where else can you see a Crossword show, a stand-up show, a music show from a beloved artist who a lot of people don’t even know does music, a very cool and experimental improvised music show by a group of impossibly cool people guaranteed to make you hipper by proximity (looking at you, Subtle Pride), a popular culture quiz show, a Brad Pitt clip marathon, a love letter to LA, an immersive tour through a crazy record collection, a special taping, AND a conversation between THE impeachment guy and THE Rob Reiner. Why, wouldn’t you think you’d have to go to upwards of 8 venues to see all those different shows? And spend upwards of 5 THOUSAND US Dollars? Nope! Just the one; your neighborhood Popcorn Restaurant. And THAT’S the Dynasty Difference™. We’re not a venue, we’re a PORTAL. Venues take you one place… portals open up possibilities. Portalbilities.

This week, the portal throbs on. TONIGHT  MARK NORMAND is in the house and has sold out BOTH of his shows. Way to go, Mark! WEDNESDAY we welcome back our pals from WorkJuice! When it comes to pals, we hate to name names, but here we gooooo: CRAIG CACKOWSKI, MARC EVAN JACKSON, HAL LUBLIN, ANNIE SAVAGE, PAUL F TOMPKINS, MARC GAGLIARDI and LI’L JANET VARNEY. With special guest: SHANNON WOODWARD! Come and be wooed by some of the best improvisors in the game… the big game. The game of LIFE. THURSDAY we welcome JOE MACHI for his hour. Joe’s got a great track record, a great voice, and deserves to have a great track suit. Not sure if he does, but Joe, if you’re reading this, treat yourself to some quality athleisurewear! You’re WORTH it.

FRIDAY it’s the one threesome where EVERYONE’s invited, Everything’s Great! Your hosts with the most; DEMI ADEJUYIGBE, ADDIE WEYRICH, and NICK KOCHER! You don’t need more reasons to come to this show, but too bad! They’re serving you one helluva lineup: ROBBY HOFFMAN! CHRIS FLEMMING! DAVID GBORIE! NITHYA RAMAN + HAYES DAVENPORT. Come see this show! Afterwards at 10pm it’s Wild, Wild Christian- SIMONE MCALONEN’s story of awkward teenage sexual awakening set at Christian summer camp… which happened to be built  on the 60,000 acre ranch in Central Oregon formerly home to the murderous sex cult from Wild, Wild Country. Really!

SATURDAY we LEAP into February (this February is leap year style February! So athletic! ) with a Dynasty Tonight! Could there be a better leap and landing place?  We think not. So land on this 8pm show with a hand picked lineup! This week is featuring: IAN HARVIE, BILLY WAYNE DAVIS and wayyyyy more, baby! Grab your tickets and #experiencebliss™  (we pitched that to Lindt but they passed in the form of ignoring us, so we’re keeping it for ourselves. That’s OUR #Lindtstory!)  MONDAY we have the distinct honor of hosting The Smartest Man In The World podcast (Proopcast) with none other than the VERY humble GREG PROOPS. Come! Laugh! Learn! Mingle with some of the sexiest folks the UNIVERSE has to offer.

Maybe next week we’ll be less injured and more ripped  (which SOUNDS like an injury but implies a strengthening),

Jamie  +  Vanessa

MRS. MAISEL'S ALEX BORSTEIN + WHO DROPPED THE HAM?  BRAD PITT CELEBRATION! KAREN KILGARIFF!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Sweet Dynasty Darlings,

Would you believe it’s the penultimate Ol’ Newsie of Jan?! We wouldn’t, but we triple checked the calendar to confirm it and it is, so we do. 2020 is walking at a brisk pace in her sexy tracksuit and ain’t NOBODY gonna stop her! The past week brought “seven days of joy boys” (the name of NamNaw Dynasty’s sexy week-at-a-glance calendar she kept under her pillow) and we loved it. We had so much fun getting to know some of Jon Glaser’s friends who made appearances at his shows! Friends such as: JON HAMM (we know!) TIM MEADOWS! (We know!) and… *cue music* THE MAN IN THE GREEN MASK (We have no idea.) We loved BOTH of Jon’s shows. They were silly dream drops from top to bottom. Bruce McCulloch’s show was a punch-line packed extravaganza with a beating heart that made us go “awww!” EARNESTLY. Sam Jay and Jak Knight were very, very cool on Friday (no surprises there!) and the Putterbaughs converted us all into Kitchen Women. (Fun Fact: Their audience gave our pre-recorded Dynapop/Lindt packed intro its biggest reaction yet! The numbers don't lie: weirdos love us most!)

Interestingly, this weekend we accidentally (truly!) hosted rentals that both turned out to be veiled multi-level-marketing platform events, one of which involved sexy oils. We’re pleased to report that none of our staff fell prey! WE ARE STRONG. WE ARE IMPERVIOUS TO PLOYS HOWEVER APPEALING AND GOOD SMELLING AND SEXY THEY MAY BE! And we learned a valuable lesson: Dig deeper when rentals involve sexy oils hosted by sexy alliterative namesakes. In completely good news, we had the true pleasure of hosting the WORLD PREMIERE of Randy Feltface’s new film, The Book of Randicus and were EVEN MORE INTENSELY WOOED by him. Just when you think you couldn’t fall any deeper in love with a purple puppet… you find out the purple puppet started his own religion. We were NOT impervious to the charms of Randy. Let it be known that Dynasty won’t buy your stuff, but MIGHT buy into your cult! JK! We’re our own cult, honey!! JK! We’re nobody’s cult! Jamie, Vanessa, put those candles and gemstones down NOW! On Sunday, the audience entered the showroom “life style” (through a giant vagina). Shelly Slocum put on another amazing and inspiring Fetal Position show, which included such stage-gasms as Michaela Watkins talkin’ eggs and a sexpert using our DYNAPOP olive oil dispenser to simulate a stimulation device on a vulva puppet. CLASSIC! (Also, sexier than the MLM sexy oils!)

THIS WEEK should be no less scintillating but we’ll work on keeping our condiments more chaste. Not that there’s anything WRONG with an empowered, sexy condiment… but not at WORK, guys. Keep it popfessional!  TONIGHT it’s Up & Up with MOSES STORM produced by our amazing friends over at Team Coco. This month’s line-up features: JOE MANDE, LEONARD OUZTS, CAMERON ESPOSITO, JAY LARSON, ANDY HAYNES, JERMAINE FOWLER and more. If you like shows… you’re gonna like this show. IT’S THAT SIMPLE, PEOPLE!!! Speaking of shows you’ll like if you like shows (our whole calendar!  But also and especially-) WEDNESDAY is ZACH SHERWIN’s The Crossword Show! Crossword puzzles + comedians + raps plus more wormholes, and intense connections than a madman’s lair. THURSDAY at 8pm it’s a totally sold out performance from the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's Emmy™ award winning ALEX BORSTEIN! If you didn’t get tickets, we’ll tell you all about it in the next newsie but you’re right to assume it won’t be the same as attending in person. At 10pm we’re welcoming back NY-based improvisational voice band (yes! It’s a thing and it's what they are!) Subtle PrideCome revel in their sounds AND cool vibes with us.

FRIDAY come see The Friday Forty! It’s sketch comedy and trivia based on current affairs! Plus 40 questions about the week’s events while the panel drinks 40s. Honestly, it’s a solid concept for a show made rock-hard by hosts DAVE HOLMES and SCOTT M. GIMPLE. This week’s guests are KAREN KILGARIFF (My Favorite Murder!) and JOEY GREER (Alchemy This!). We could go on but it’s like what are you waiting for, get tickets. Sorry to be so blunt but it’s come to that point in the newsletter where we get downright sarsy and we tell it like it  IS .  At 10 pm we are going to go gaga over a glorious bastard and DynaPop fan Brad Pitt with The Bottomless Pitt: A Celebration of Brad! Your hosts STEVIE PALMER and NATALIE DARRAH "combed through the Brad archives with the precision of an Ocean’s heist, carefully curating their favorite moments in Pittstory with tender sexy care.” (When a show description is that good we bite it like a longhaired vampire, honey!) SATURDAY watch house favorite FELICIA FOLKES get even closer to becoming the household name she’s destined to be in her new show It’s Not LA, It’s You! With performances from TEDDY RAY and HANNAH EINBINDER! At 10pm BURT BLACKARACH is BURT BACK-ARACK in the house, this time with his own show Unshazamable: it’s a musical journey through a Grammy award winning producer’s priceless collection of vinyl, lead by your host with the most (inside music stories) Burt himself. SUNDAY DAVID HUNTSBERGER is here doing a stand-up taping for a sequel to his piece One-Headed Beast. Come and BE AMAZED. Attttennnnnd, honey! His poster is really good too. 🤷‍♀️

Oils of all viscosities,

Jamie and Vanessa

JON GLASER! KIDS IN THE DYNASTY! (SCOTT THOMPSON! BRUCE MCCULLOCH!)  SAM JAY!  RANDY FELTFACE RETURNS!  FETAL POSITION!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Sweet 2020 Darlings,

We’re already halfway through Jan! Jan; what a name for a Brady, what a name for a month! This Ol’ Newsie is gonna be what we call a news BRIEF because it will be uncharacteristically short (feign sadness for our vanity!)— there’s a lot cookin’ in our metaphorical kitchen and we don’t want to burn Ol’ Newsie so we gotta get her out fast! Last week in a word? GREAT. In more words: MAGICAL, INSPIRING, EXCITING, CANDY, ENCHANTING! We had a lot of literal magic on the stage (Taylor HughesBen Seidman!) and Kevin McDonald was “electrifyingly fun!” - Jamie Flam.  Our Go! Day this Sunday was one of our favorite EVER (we’re sure we sound like a broken record on our Go! Day enthusiasm but actually it’s because Go! Days keep getting better and better! So really, the record is actually the most functional record ever? The record is… evolving!) In addition to our amazing line-up of guests, our Go! Day audience (heretofore known as the Go-Getters) witnessed: the christening of 2020 as our “candy year”  “Sugar. Oh, 2020. You are our CANDY YEAR. So many things we want to chew!”   (to the tune of The Archie’s Sugar Sugar), The introduction of LOLLIPUP, the official mascot of Candy Year! The roll out of our vegan hot dog brand and it’s Lollipup Gang mascot SCHLOBBERDÄG! AND the Go-Getters were also treated to a priceless lesson in showbiz magic, and invited to stay after the show to watch a new pitch from Go! Day GOAT, Emmy™ winner, show runner of The Office, and amazing writer, sharp dresser, and productivity guru Brent Forrester! Note to your future selves: come to Go! Day for guaranteed goodness PLUS magical surprises. Note to your current selves: hey, you! You’re cute !

TONIGHT we’re so excited to have JON GLASER in the house! We love him and we can’t wait for this show. Oh gorsh, we wish it could happen twice! OH WAIT! He’s coming back SATURDAY! 2 chances, NO EXCUSES.

On WEDNESDAY we have The Kids in the Hall's BRUCE MUCCULLOCH’s one man show, Tales of Bravery & Stupidity! Stand up! Storytelling! BRUUUUUUCE! THURSDAY we’ll be using our NEW BIG AMAZING MOVIE SCREEN (thanks Santa!) for a screening of KAUFMANIA, a new comedy film starring FRED WILLARD that celebrates the genius of Andy Kaufman. In person we’ll have Kaufman Manager & Seinfeld executive producer GEORGE SHAPIRO and Andy’s longtime collaborator and Man on the Moon star LITTLE WENDY POLLAND. At 10pm CHLOE HILLIARD will be in the house doing some stand up & talking about her new book F*ck Your Diet. The cover of her book features her with a popcorn bra. 🤷‍♂️ It’s a no-brainer, folks. FRIDAY SNL writer and one of our favorite performers SAM JAY will take the stage and also likely take your hearts. Do you like things that are the best? Great! You’ll love her. At 10pm The PUTERBAUGH SISTERS present the premiere of Kitchen Women: two women trapped in their kitchen. The only way to escape is with pills, alcohol and each other.  ‍♀️ ‍ SATURDAY brings the expedient return of JON GLASER (remember? We wished he was doing two shows and then we found out- OMG he is!) and at 10pm the return of our purple obsession RANDY FELTFACE and a WORLD PREMIERE SCREENING of his newest s special, THE BOOK OF RANDICUS. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director NATALIE VAN DEN DUNGEN and RANDY FELTFACE himself, in the...felt!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! SHELLY SLOCUM is doing her second installment of The Fetal Position and WE CAN'T WAIT! Shelly is charming, hilarious, amazing, and a former doula and childbirth educator. She puts together an epic show on female anatomy (women are amazing and mysterious! Unnecessarily mysterious! Let’s lift the veil and get to know what’s happening!) and more. This installment will feature an amazing group of women including: ELIZA SKINNER! MICHAELA WATKINS! SASHEER ZAMATA! REBEKKA JOHNSON! KATIE ASELTON! Plus surprises! Plus DECORATIONS (last time we got to walk through a vagina. YES, “GOT” TO! It was our privilege.) and SURPRISES and also proceeds go to Planned Parenthood SouthEast. In the past, sisters may have been doin’ it for themselves, but now, sisters are doin' it for each other!  (Not sure that totally works, but hopefully you get the uplifting feminist / inclusive vibe we were aiming for.)

Schlobberdäg!

MAGICAL 2020! (Magic events!) (SELF) HELP YOURSELF!  RORY SCOVEL! OPEN MIKE EAGLE! FELICIA DAY!  NYE PHOTOS!  SEXY ATTITUDES!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Oh Dannnnng, Darlings!

New Year, same glorious yousies, same glorious Ol’ Newsie (if I do say so myself!)! Oh, the Holidays, they came they went, they popped, sizzled, fizzed, delighted, inflated and likely deflated you. Now, it’s time to step into the new rhythm of TWENTY TWENTY!  Whoah. It’s ACTUALLY the year 2020. Let’s all pray/work/wish/use whatever natural and supernatural gifts we have to see that the world keeps spinning into the 20’s and well beyond. The new year is already full of tragedy, miracle, hope and hopelessness; all of which only strengthens the Dynasty Resolve™ to become a portal to and for what’s capital G Good in the multiverse. We rang the New Year in with our BIGGEST NIGHT EVER, an epically delightful and human-full DYNASTYLAND event. Dancing, Dyngo, comedy, PLORQ™ pizza delivery, disc-spinning, takeover of The Guano Guano Cantina, AND the successful completion and dismantling of a duck puzzle no fewer than three times! Oh, there’s so much more to say but the word count on photos is much more efficient (we learned a few things back when we ran Dynasty Brethryn & Sistryn Telegram Firm) so please enjoy our NYE photo gallery, photos courtesy of the amazing Troy Conrad. Link to full gallery here!

The first week of 2020 was a success! Demi (God) Adejuyigbe added BACKFLIPPER to his already ridiculously impressive resume, we had our first Dynasty Tonight of the new decade, featuring some timeless talent (Wayne Federman! Pam Severns! Why get so specific? The whole flarpin’ lineup was a buncha doll faces and dream brains!) and this week as the cute little industry crawls out of its winter burrows and the performers wake up from a long winter’s nap and we all try to get back in sync with what regular life is, the Dynasty stage will be flooded and studded with all the good things. Stars! Laughter! Corn!

TONIGHT... what happens when one of the nicest and most generous people on the planet is also hilarious and also also a mind boggling magician?! FIND OUT! TAYLOR HUGHES Chasing WonderAt 7 & 9 pm, Taylor (who we LOVE) is going to be wowin’ and wooin’ us all with the taping of his new special. We can’t wait! And luckily, we barely have to!

WEDNESDAY If you like self-help and personal development seminars, you probably like parodies of them too! And if you don’t like self-help and personal development, you even more likely enjoy parodies of them! Come and watch ROSS EVERETT become Success Coach and Transformation Artist Dale Thorhammer in STOP STOPPING THE UNSTOPPABLE

THURSDAY it’s Live at Dynasty Presented by Podcasts on Spotify! It’s a stand-up show put on by our friends at Spotify! It’s cool! It’s got a lineup that’ll make you see spot(ify)s! AWOOGA! RORY SCOVEL! JESSIMAE PELUSOOPEN MIKE EAGLE! CHINEDU UNAKA! Plus surprises and also plus just having a ding dang great Thursday night for the books.

FRIDAY You like magic? You like comedy? Well they like each other so much they are flarkin’ BEST FRIENDS. Come see magic, comedy, juggling and best friendship in The Best Friends Tour with juggler MARCUS MONROE and magician BEN SEIDMAN!

Kids in the Hall? More like Kids in the weekend!!! Ok, the wordplay (generous description, we know!) was weak but the content is strong. KEVIN  MCDONALDis ALIVE! And he’s allll over SATURDAY! At 8pm come see his amazing theatrical show, Alive! it’s chock full of stories and songs about his life, his family, his work with The Kids In the Hall, and beyond! And during the day Saturday from 10-5:30, we are thrilled to host an intimate sketch workshop with Kevin. You bring an idea or two, you’ll wind up writing, improvising, rehearsing, and bringing your ideas to life with a sketch comedy legend

SUNDAY it’s the first GO DAY! of 2020 and we are already buzzing for it! Go Day! is our free monthly dose of enchantertainment and inspiration, and if you haven’t been, you truly aren’t getting the most of your Dynasty Experience. We (JAMIE and VANESSA) host and invite some of our most favorite folks to come over and chat about their creative process, to perform, to excite, and to help tap into the magic that this life is so full of. This month’s GO DAY! darlings include FELICIA DAY! ATSUKO OKATSUKA! BURT BLACKARACH! REBECCA LIEB! RACHEL BRODEUR & RITA OLIVEIRA! It’s a classic mix- dance, comedy, singing bowls, book excerpts, music, tarot, and goooood vibes baby! “Come through at 2!” (A potential catchphrase for our 2pm start time.)

Now, if you’re in a rolling n’ scrolling mood, please treat yourself to on a mental walk with us (Dr. MuMaw Dynasty says: "Feeling your feelings burns 5x more calories than actual walking! Don’t quote me on that!”) through the last year and how much happened within it… it was just our second year of business!  Yes, Dynababy has entered The Terribly Wonderful Twos! As we said last year, “May the curse of too many blessings reign forever!” Check our our 2019 DY-Light reel!

We love you,

Jamie and Vanessa

Truly, we can’t believe we’re about to enter year three of the Dynasty dream! As always we owe everything to you, who support us by supporting all the programming we do here day after day and night after night. Thank you for continuing to make Dynasty your home for entertainment and enchanting experiences this past year. Now, read below for a visual look at our mental walk through 2019! If you’re asking yourself how we could possibly top this in 2020… you’re not alone!

BATSHIT PRESS
(AND THE  STUFF OF SCRAPBOOK FANTASY)

We do all of this for the love of theater, never for the accolades. But flarp it, validation is validation, and when some of the most reputable hubs of information and news dissemination conclude that we are an industry flarpin’ leader, well, we gonna munch hon-ay!

  • In October we were featured on the front page of The NY Times Arts Section, referred to as “LA’s comedy clubhouse.  The spread continued onto other pages, with several photos, and quotes from luminaries including Reggie Watts and Hannah Gadsby who said  we’re “...a little bit grass roots, a little bit top shelf, and a little bit of  whatever you need … and popcorn.” We love that!
  • In their annual Best of LA edition, LA Weekly named us “best alt-comedy venue.” We’re pretty sure  “alt” means “we freaky!”
  • Vulture, who did their annual Comics You Should Know and See at the theatre in November, posted an interview with Jamie and Vanessa,.
  • Los Angeles Magazine, who has taken a shine to the theater since our doors opened, called us “top place to see celebrity drop-ins.”
  • Somehow we heard the words Dynasty and Typewriter used in succession on an episode of ABC’s Blackish! Yes, “Dynasty Typewriter” was uttered many times as the name of a fictional club that “puts on some of the best shows.” Sure!
  • We were were prominently featured in Adam Sandler’s Netflix special 100% Fresh. Including a sweet shot of Jamie’s grandma eating it up!

PHYSICAL IMPROVEMENTS!
(BASICALLY LIKE THE THEATER GOT ABS!)

You lift, bro? If by “lift” you mean ELEVATE then hunnnnn, we live to lift! We have been excitedly working to elevate the Dynasty experience within the space, and it’s VERY satisfying. People are talking! Here’s what they’re saying:
  • “Hey, excuse me? I just want to say… wow! This podcast studio looks beautiful, what’s the story?” The story was it was a basic-ass tiny-ass offiice and catch-all for our shit for the first year and after a 2019 filled with eating right and exercising, she IS AS RIPPED as a basic-ass-office turned enchanting, welcoming, magical podcast studio can be. We can’t wait to fill her with podcast this year!
  • “Hey, excuse me? I just want to say… wow!” I JUST noticed your digital concession menu,  it’s awesome!”  Oh thanks! You’re not unobservant, we JUST got it installed! Now you can easily see our amazing offerings, which include our Savvy Shopper CORNBOS™! (It’s like a combo, with DynaPop™ as a centerpiece!).
  • “Hey, excuse me? I just want to say… wow! I JUST noticed you guys installed small audience mics for live recordings and barely-there stage mics for improv, sketch and other live performance! Awesome!”  Goodness, you are VERY observant! You must work in theater or live events, person. You’re right, we got ALL THOSE MICS. And two hot little wireless models… but who’s counting?
  • “Hey! Excuse  me! What was that MASSIVE thing a whole team was loading into your space this weekend? It looked AWESOME!” Thanks! It was…. Our biggest singular improvement to date… A REAL LEGIT PRO DROP-DOWN MOVIE SCREEN!  !!!!!!!!! Here’s to a 2020 FULL of screenings and a big screen full of big, beautiful images and stories!
  • “Hey! Excuse me… has the greenroom always been green!?!” No, we did that baby. WE DID THAT. Now come here and give mama a consensual kissI

DEVELOPMENTS IN DYNASTYLAND

In 2019 we quadrupled our Dynastyland output with four big nights! Don’t know what Dynastyland is? Dynastyland is what happens when we’re feeling saucy! We make ourselves both brave and vulnerable by opening up the entire theater so that you can experience ALL our enchanting and hidden nooks. Our green room turns into the cutest show room you ever did see, our barkeep starts slingin’ the sauce, our stage transforms into a thrumming Dyscotheque, characters roam, magicians magic, treats and surprises abound with partners like Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and Old Pal Provisions, and, welp, there’s Dyngo and delights for dang near every type of personality!

With all that we learn with each one, they just get better and better. It’s all part of our ongoing evolution towards opening a Dynasty theme park (est. groundbreaking 2025).

We can't speak for you, but we're still recovering from Tuesday night's Dynastyland New Years party, which was one of our absolute favorite events since we opened the theater two years ago. Based on the feedback we've gotten so far, everyone had a wonderful time. And we got the flarpin' photos to prove it!

Photo Recap: Dynastyland NYE 2020

A very special evening where we opened up the entire theatre for a multi-room immersive party + entertainment experience to celebrate 2020.

What is Dynastyland? If you’ve been to Dynasty for a show, you’ve had the opportunity to enjoy great talent, our award-winning DynaPop, and some jazzy tunes in the lobby. But sometimes when we’re feeling saucy, we open the entire theater so that you can experience ALL our enchanting and hidden nooks. Our green room turns into the cutest show room you ever did see, our barkeep starts slingin’ the sauce, our stage transforms into a thrumming Dyscotheque, characters roam, magicians magic, treats and surprises abound, and, welp, there’s Dyngo and delights for dang near every type of personality! Bring your friends, bring a date, come solo and meet others, or come solo and STAY solo (have a love affair with YOU, honey!) Dynastyland is for everyone!

WAYNE BRADY THIS WEEK! 🤩 JILLIAN BELL AND MICHAELA WATKINS TONIGHT! MUSIC! RACHEL BLOOM! LIFE DEATH AND STOCKING UNBOXING!

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Wintry Darlings,

Seven flarpin' days 'til Hannukah! Nine days ’til flarpin' Christmas! ZERO DAYS 'til living your best and most authentic life and believing in whatever you choose to believe in! Ain’t that flarpin’ beautiful!? We hope you’re recovering from holiday parties in between holiday parties so you’re able to attend holiday parties before the holiday! SPEAKING OF PARTIES, a few things: you are releasedfrom attending any party you really don't want to attend! Yes, Virginia, even at your own home! Hide if you want hunny, just leave those snax n’ drankz and your guests will still have a woolen and wonderful time (people go flarpin’ floofy for a festive sweater this time of year! Another thing about parties: COME TO OUR NEW YEAR’S DYNASTYLAND! It’s the party you deserve, complete with food, drink, enchantertainment™, and areas you can hide in. We’re very very excited already. Are YOU very excited? Great! We make a cute couple, don’t we? I’ve thought YOU were cute for a long time. ;)

Last week was a winter wonderland at the theater, minus the winter, but plus shows. Highlights included: another SOLD OUT Fast and the Furious musical parody! That crew has really cracked the (key)code on automotive musicals. Mazel to them! New years resolution starting early: We want to start “mazel”ing more generously! Cameron Esposito bringing people together for her show Separated, MAZEL! Zach Sherwin crossin’ it for the last time of 2019, MAZEL! Chuck Tingle selling his erotica and wearing a bag on his head all night, MAZEL! LANCE BASS bringing as many thrills and squeals as ever as a guest on Arden Myrin’s amazing and BONKERS ENERGIZED Will You Accept this Rose?, MAZEL! Buddy Wakefield’s sold out show for his book release that featured his amazing poetry + piano + saxophone, MAZEL! And if this week was a stoqing (stocking) we’d call the dorn thang STORF’D (stuffed) and be so thrilled at the contents we wouldn’t even need any more gifts! OOOH!

Let us do a #virtualunboxing of this #stoqingmetaphor!! We’ll write the words, YOU’ll use your IMAGINATION (the greatest gift Santa ever gave!) to insert yourself in the story and unbox the stoq with us!

The pre-dawn morn is chilly and bursting with anticipation. The air smells of woodfire, cinnamon, and hot chocolate. It’s just you, and you savor these moments of solitude with the same indulgent attention you give the last square of Lindt premium chocolate. You sit fireside in your flan-jams (flannel pajamas) clutching the heirloom stoqing you've had for your entire life. You know when you empty this stoqing you’ll see everything this week has to offer at Dynasty!

You reach your chilled hand into the velvety innards of the glorious oversized sock and feel an immediate warmth as your fingers curl around TONIGHT’S shows! You pull them out so you can get a look… there are TWO shows and they are both beautiful! O’! They shine with a brassy gleam! First up at 8pm it’s Two Old Queens Celebrating The Holidays! But don’t let the name fool you… it’s more than two queens! This show is a bustling queendom! Main Queens: DREW DROEGE and MITCH SILPA cordially invite you to their holiday gaythering, featuring scandalous tales of yesteryear, dead celebrity gossip and  too  much  punch. Other improvisors/partyguests include JILLIAN BELL! MICHAELA WATKINS! LUCAS HAZLETT! JONNIE  REINNHART! JAMES ADOMIAN! Oh my gorsh you are so lucky get to go to this show! Then at 10pm your stoqing has a beautifully wrapped show for you, it’s comedy, it’s pathos, it’s storytelling, it’s perfect for the holidays because it acknowledges that this time of year ain’t easy for everyone, it’s Happy Holidays, Our Parent(/s) Are Dead! True stories from comedians who’ve lost their parent/s. It can’t help but be funny because these people are stars. We’ve got: DREW DROEGE (again! A Dynasty double date! Your stoqing is themed! It’s so cute! JEANIE BERGEN! BILL DIXON! LAURA HOUSE! MISTY MONROE! And LIVE MUSIC from SARA & ANDREW Wow. If a stoqing starts out THIS good… can it improve? You give yourself a break, take a sip of HoCho w. MiMos (hot chocolate, w/ mini marshmallows durh) and prepare yourself to reach in again. WHAT will be revealed next? You take a breath of crisp air, and reach in again… your hand lands on… what’s this?

It’s WEDNESDAY’S event! You pull it out, you can’t believe your eyes! You didn’t ask for this! You didn’t even KNOW to ask because it wasn’t even on a calendar anywhere!!!! It’s WAYNE BRADY in a live taping of his new COMEDY IQ! Six talented TEENS (teens are so in right now! All your friends will be jealous!) and ONE Wayne Brady (the famous one!) are filming the finale of this new show, sure to be a holiday hit. And it was in your stoqing! SANTA IS A WILD BOI!!

Ok, the HoCho w. MiMos is kicking in. You’re on a sugar high. No more of this savoring, it’s time to empty this stoqing!!! THURSDAY it’s over the top! It’s amazing! It’s Creeper Christmas! You remember Creeper from the viral CholoFit workout videos and here he is with a full show! Creeper is FRANKIE QUIÑONES who is easily one of the funniest and kindest people in the game. PROOF? This show is FUNNY and also a portion of the proceeds go to CHARITY- they will benefit The Andy Vargas Foundation helping scholarship funding for underprivileged youth in California. Oh My Gorsh. Your stoqing is giving to you AND giving back. Wait, there’s a note on this one! It says, beer and wine served at this event! Aw!

Look! Over here! There’s a package… you recognize the shape, you’ve seen this before. You rip the shiny foil paper away and YES! It’s Everything’s Great! You love this show and you needed a refill! You know they’re all special editions…  what’s in this one!? WOW! MARGARET CHO! RACHEL BLOOM! BRIAN MCELHANEY! Ok mama, this show is storfed! You know it always sells out, so you act QUICKLY.

Wait! There’s something else in here! In the toe! But ShowSanta has already been so generous! It’s a beautiful, round little something, shaped like… an apple? Wait! THREE! It’s Candy, Cora and Seedy! The Apple Sisters Happy Holi-Doozy Christ-mess SpecialThe Apple Sisters are LA’s favorite vintage musical comedy trio, and they’ll take us all back to a land of bag bands, slapstick, and modest product endorsement. You’re so lucky to be invited!

You lay your stoqing down and notice the Santa ornament on the mantle (beside the menorah) glint as the sun rises and shines through a frosty window pane … either the morning light is playing a trick on you or… that flarkin’ ornament just winked at you. This really IS the most magical time of the year!

Santa winks and Maccabee blinks,

Jamie and Vanessa
